At Ferro Fanavaran Ceram, the production of silicon carbide ceramic foam filters is carried out using indigenous technical knowledge and the latest international standards. These filters are recognized as an effective tool for improving casting quality, refining molten metals, and reducing surface and structural defects.

The manufacturing process begins with the selection of an open-cell polymeric foam. This foam serves as a three-dimensional template and forms the basis for creating the porous structure of the filter. In the next stage, a ceramic slurry consisting of high-purity silicon carbide powder and organic and inorganic additives is prepared. This slurry has controlled rheological properties to enable uniform coating of the foam surface.

The polymeric foam is carefully immersed in the slurry, and after removal, the coating weight is controlled through controlled methods to achieve a uniform ceramic coating thickness. The coated parts are then dried under controlled temperature and humidity conditions to prevent cracking and deformation.

In the final stage, the filters are fired in a kiln. During this process, the polymeric structure is removed by heat, leaving behind the porous ceramic body. At the same time, the ceramic materials achieve the required integrity and strength through the sintering process. (According to the schematic illustration)
